7-Jul-2007 john turner: i have a hdmi lcd tv and a digital cable set top box (ntl). will the acer be able to record tv from my cable box. also if i place a hddvd movie in the dvd player will i get full hd picture from my tv at 720p.

Easycom: You can easily record TV on the iDea 510 from your set top box. If you want full resolution HD content you will need to use the HDMI connection on the media center.

26-Jul-2007 vassilis: Dual digital/analogue TV - HDTV - DVB-T you mean that it has two tv tuners that support analogue and DVB-T signals ? this means that you can record one channel and watch another ?

Easycom: There is a single hybrid tuner so you can not watch digital TV while recording analogue TV.

31-Oct-2007 nc: If I connect this pc to a 32" lcd will I get the same clarity/resolution when used for pc applications, and what connections do you recommend for best quality pictue? many thanks.

Easycom: Yes you would get the same clarity, for the best picture quality I would recommend using the HDMI port with an HD ready television or the S-Video out port.

1-Nov-2007 Ermintrude: Can you run DVB-T channels and also take input from the scart (I.e a STB) to display on the media centre. Also can the IR control a homechoice / Tiscalli TV box? Also what write speed is required for a NAS for it to cope with recording 2 or more channels of video (If it would work I would want 3 of these).

Easycom: This has a built in DVB tuner and so will display freeview channels. It also has 2 scart inputs so you will be able to run a set top box through it to display on the television/monitor.

Easycom: Yes you will be able to add external storage such as an external hard drive.

29-Nov-2007 JULIUS PHIRI: DOES ACER ASPER IDEA 510 MEDIA CENTRE HAVE SPEAKERS IN BUILT OR DO I NEED TO BUY SPEAKERS INORDER FOR ME TO HAVE SOUND BECAUSE APPARENTLY THERE IS NO SOUND FROM MY COMPUTER.

Easycom: The idea behind media centre PC's was to connect to a television or a home cinema syste, which will have built in speakers. Unfortunately this doesn't have integrated speakers and so external speakers will need to be purchased for sound.
