The High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) is an industry-supported, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface. HDMI provides an interface between any compatible digital audio/video source, such as a set-top box, a DVD player, or an A/V receiver and a compatible digital audio and/or video monitor, such as a Digital TV.

1080p HDTV''s deliver more detail, which can enhance the viewing experience for more attentive visual persons, but it takes the right distance from the TV and a fine eye to truly appreciate it. The most important factor is to view the color, how the TV handles black coloring, the contrast, and most importantly, what you will mainly use the TV for before you make a judgment. Unless you buy a TV that is 50 inches or more and at the right distance, it will be difficult to distinguish a difference in quality between 1080p, 1080i, and 720p, but you will be able to distinguish it in price

This mode allows films to be watched as intended by the director for the big screen, at 24 frames per second. Until now, movies watched at home play back ''faster'' than they do in the cinema. When a film is shown on TV or sold on DVD it has to be adjusted to be compatible with the PAL format. The difference is that films are shot at a rate of 24 frames per second, whereas standard TV uses 25 frames per second.

Simplink:
The problem of too many remote controls is symptomatic of modern times there are so many different AV devices to connect (Blu-ray player, Sky box, home-cinema system, etc.) and each comes with its own device. LGs SIMPLINK system can control all the connected AV devices with one remote control. By pressing the SIMPLINK remote control key, you can switch on and control all devices connected by HDMI. When the TV is switched off, all connected AV devices are automatically switched off as well.

The Digital Connection:
The HDMI connection is the digital replacement to the old SCART standard, and provides the best picture and sound quality by digitally transferring the signal. As the new standard, it is convenient for the consumer as the same connection type is used to connect many different types of products. It can carry both visual and sound information, reducing cable mess.

Easycom: the refresh rate, as per LG's site, is 50/60hz. sa for which is best, they are both thery similar specs so it just comes down to the look of them
