Connect the DMR-EX99VEBK  to your VIERA TV via an HDMI cable, and the TV channel setting information is automatically downloaded to the DIGA recorder. If you want to record the program you’re watching, you can start immediately by pressing the VIERA Link button on the VIERA remote control and selecting “Direct TV Rec.” on the VIERA Link menu screen. You can pause Live TV too, letting you freeze TV programmes just like pausing a DVD, by selecting "Pause Live TV" on the VIERA Link Menu.

Data from music CDs and USB devices can be easily transferred to DIGA’s hard disk drive. It supports gracenote, so titles and artist names are automatically saved together with the music CD data. It also supports the ID3Tag and WMA-Tag title information that is embedded in music data. The DIGA is like a jukebox filled with your favourite music.

26-Apr-2011 Mancnbhoy: I asked: "Is it possible to record via the SCART socket? I have a Sky HD box and would like to archive saved programmes from it onto DVD. I figure that I can use the SCART output from Sky to transfer to the Panasonic hard disk, then archive off to DVD" You said: "You would need to use HDMI for HD recordings" So. Not a lot of help really. Sky HD doesn't have an HDMI out for copying and I don't think there's an HDMI in on this device, so I'm limited to the SCART. Accepting that I won't get full HD, can I copy from that input?

Jonathan: sorry, misunderstood - yes you can use Scart to archive

8-May-2011 Fountaine: 1. Does this recorder allow me to record 2 programmes whilst watching a third? 2. Does it allow me to download myVHS tapes onto its hard drive and then copy them from the hard drive onto DVD? 3. My TV has Freeview - do I need a recorder with Freeview too?

Jonathan: It has a single tuner so you can watch one program on your TV whilst recording another. You will be able to record your videos as mentioned. You need the Freeview tuner to record a different program to the one you're watching.
