Using only about a 12.1-megapixel area of this large CCD makes it possible to give all 3 aspect ratios - 16:9, 3:2, and 4:3 - the same angle of view with lens settings from 25mm to 300mm. And rather than digitally producing "simulated" images, the DMC-TZ10 captures the actual, real-life image for each one of the aspect ratios at the ultra-wide 25mm setting. Plus, the Multi-aspect Mode 2 lets the camera take an image in all 3 aspect ratios simultaneously, so you can choose the best one after shooting.

Thanks to the Intelligent Resolution technology, the Intelligent Zoom is available with the DMC-TZ10 which extends the zoom ratio by approx. 1.3x maintaining the picture quality even combining a digital zoom. You can quickly get moving subjects in focus, such as when you're shooting sports scenes.
