Panasonic's VIERA technology converts standard definition signals from TV programmes and DVD movies to 1080p high-definition signals. The result is reproduction of images faithful to the original, with superb detail and subtle picture nuances intact. It also analyzes each scene and adjusts the picture accordingly to assure optimum brightness. In a bright scene it enhances picture sharpness, while in a dim scene it helps reproduce crisper, deeper blacks.

The HD Optimizer detects and removes the kind of noise unique to digital video signals. Analysing every scene and applying the level of noise reduction most suitable for each, helping to bring out the full image quality of high-definition sources.

That's why HD images are so clear, detailed and beautiful on VIERA's large screen.

2-Oct-2008 Davidpr: For HD viewing of Blu Ray and gaming is the picture on this set as good as say the LCD Finlux 37" 1080p set?

Easycom: the Finlux is 1080p the Pana isn't so the Finlux will naturally have a better picture for viewing Blu-ray & games consoles. for viewing Freeview, or normal TV, I would go for the Panasonic better quality TV far more functions
