4-Aug-2008 Wheelie Monster: Hi - if I use an HDMI source, such as Xbox360 which outputs 5.1 surround sound, connected via HDMI cable, will this TV then output that 5.1 signal on it's optical output connector? (So I can then connect that via optical cable to a 5.1 decoder sound system)

Easycom: no, you will have to connect the audio directly from your Xbox

Easycom: why would you want to update the firmware?

12-Sep-2008 Steve: Because of possible future updates and i don't know how long this has been sitting in your warehouse for. i.e. it might need an update

Easycom: ther are 2 things here, if you do anything yourself, re firmware, you will invalidate the waranty as it is an engineer job only, plus firmware updates only affect the freeview menus which is usually done over the air anyway. All our stock is no more than 4 weeks old and comes directly from Samsung, sa for having latest software installed shouldn't be an issue

SteveF: Freeview is the free digital channel package that is replacing analogue TV in the UK. Unfortunately it comes built in so we can't exclude it and lower the price.
