Easycom: the resonse time is 8ms but LCD's do also have refresh rates

27-Jan-2008 siska: could you please help me .on thinking that the samsung LE40F86BDX & Samsung LE40F86BD were the same model but whilst checking out specifications on other web sites there were some diffrences .some showed a usb port as well as auto setup whilst others showed n/a .could you please help me out on this as well telling me which is the most recent model or any other additional info about this set . thanks

Easycom: the F86BD & BDX are the same thing, someone has just missed off putting the X on the end of the code. As for connections the F86 has side inputs of 1 x HDMI, 1 x Composite, 1 x S-Video, 1 x headphone & 1 x Wiselink, which is a usb connection. As for auto setup, this ia a basic function that all TVs now have. I hope this helps

18-Mar-2008 beefy: hi , cant decide between the samsung le46m87bdx and le40f86bdx . which one would you recomend ? both very good but just cant get my head around 1oohz and contrast brightness ratios

Easycom: OK, both are full HD (1080p panels) so great watching High def movies, or Sky HD. it will come down to the picture quality from both. the F86 wins over the M87, when watching normal TV, because it can display a greater colour range (higher contrast ratio) plus the 100hz means that the image on the screen refreshes 100 times per second as apposed to 50 times per second. this helps to get rid of motion drag, or blurred fast moving images that LCD tvs can suffer from.

8-Sep-2008 dave: Hi, My son bought a Samsung LE40F8 but can't see in the instruction booklet how to programme a digital channel for recording? He can record a programme that he is watching but not one while they are watching another programme even if they switch the TV to anologue. If he turns the set off it doesn't record anything. Just no signal. Can you help please?

Easycom: well you can't, thats down to the device that you're using to record. The TV doesn't have dual Digital tuners.

5-Nov-2008 Lotus Blossom: We are keen to buy theLE40F86BDX it might sound like a rather odd question but.. does it come with all the necessary leads to set it up and use it when i get it,(obviously i know that depends on what i'm going to want to connect it to, so lets say just the basic tv use)and does it come with the remote?Can i get a free extended warranty on this item?I can't see where it tells me all this on web page, Thanks

jeremy: they come with a power lead, manuals and remote control. LG do not offer FREE extended warranties

jeremy: its not a bad set, but is last years model. I would look at spending say £50 more and go for Sony KDL40W4000U far better build quality, better speakers better all round over Samsung
