8-Jun-2007 rob: has this model got a games mode built in for xbox360 use ?

buyitdirect: yes it has

9-Jun-2007 Mike: Is the SAMSUNG LE40M87BDX/XEU model 1080p format and is this model the latest from Samsung. Also, do Samsung make a 42" 1080p model?

buyitdirect: This is the latest model & is 1080p. Samsung don't do a 42"1080p product at the moment, the next size up is 46"

20-Jun-2007 andy: Has the stock you have got the latest firmware update? as models made before june dont, and have issues with playing back 1080p 24fps and movie plus mode bugs.

buyitdirect: All our stock is new stock delivered in June, but there is no way of telling exactly when it has manufactured

25-Jun-2007 Pete: Can this PAL version accept an NTSC signal from a DVD player?

buyitdirect: Yes it can

26-Jun-2007 d alcock: what is the differbces with the super clear scren as the 37inch does not have this, but all other spec is the same

buyitdirect: its because of the contrast ratio. The 37" only has an 8000:1 conrast compared to 15000:1 for the other sizes. the lower res can't support it

5-Jul-2007 Jas: Does this TV come with latest Firmware (v2000) that fixes bugs with previous firmware (v1013) and below?

buyitdirect: yes they do. they are all the latest release of TVs

17-Jul-2007 barry: is this tv better than the LE40F71BDX model and why? . . and what is picture like thru normal aerial(any blurring etc for fast sequences i.e.football action films etc thank you

buyitdirect: THE M87 series is the new version of the F71. The F71 doesn't have Freeview. Reference the picture, unless you have realy good reception, you will get the symptoms you're talking about. LCDs & plasmas always have a worse picture than a CRT TV

19-Jul-2007 Baz: hi, can you tell me the size`s from side to side and top to bottom of the holes for a wall braket ????? thank you.

buyitdirect: they should be 200mm x 200mm

28-Jul-2007 Steve: DO you have the latest batch instock with the latest firmware installed (v2000) and is delivery free. Thanks

buyitdirect: All stock is the latest production

1-Aug-2007 Mark: Are you able to supply the Samsung Mechanical Wall Bracket (PN~ WMN5090AE) for this TV?

buyitdirect: sorry no

1-Sep-2007 joe: hi, can this tv accept a SECAM signal

buyitdirect: Contact Samsung

18-Sep-2007 Corpsey: TV is Absolutely Brilliant Recommended buy ! And also the Couriers from DT got my tv to my door step within 1week Really good Company

buyitdirect: thanks

21-Sep-2007 VJ: Is it possible to for you to do a dead pixel check before sending the TV? I am willing to pay a bit extra if required. Thanks.

buyitdirect: sorry no

4-Oct-2007 Phil: Which sound system/hd DVD would you suggest to go with this set to get the maximum from the TV

buyitdirect: HT-TXQ120R is the best Samsung have to offer, but you should also get a Blu-ray player to compliment it. New Samsung BD-P1400 out later this month

24-Oct-2007 dave: Can the base be removed so it can be wall mounted?

buyitdirect: Yes.

2-Nov-2007 Chris: What is the difference between this and the LE37M87BDX as I have seen the 37" for considerably more in the shops (compared to the 40" in the shops) Thanks

buyitdirect: The size of the screen.

3-Dec-2007 t+s: we have been told that lcd tvs need 100z or better for clear and stable picture,if this is the latest version does this set have it and if not why, if this set does not have this feature do have a set that does made by samsung for about the same cost, and as good as. thank you

buyitdirect: only the 32 inch is 100hz because it doesn't have a 1080p panel

5-Dec-2007 jas: is it 100hz??

buyitdirect: no it isn't. only the 32 inch is

1-Jan-2008 Darren: In your summary you list this TV as having 8000:1 dynamic contrast but in your technical specs you have is as 15000:1 dynamic contrast. Also many other sites have this TV listed at 15000:1 please could you clarify.

buyitdirect: the true dynamic ratio is 1500:1, I will change our site

2-Jan-2008 Omer: The actual display picture you have above for this Samsung LE40M87BDX looks different to the picture Samsung have on their own Web site. The bottom part of the TV on the Samsung site is more of a straight line. The picture above, gives off the impression its more curvy. Basically before I buy, I want to make sure Im buying the correct looking TV. Many Thanks!

buyitdirect: the pictures have been updated, we pulled through the wrong ones, thanks

4-Jan-2008 mark: sorry if this has been repeated, or if you could assist with an option, but what is the difference between the LE40M87BD & the LE40M87BDX?. Also im looking for a 40inch that will provide excellent fast moving Images. Would this TV be ok as i have read some reports that contradict this. Or maybe offer one that stands out when looking for this Quality

buyitdirect: these sets are both the same model. as for motion drag, this will only be eleviated by viewing a High def signal. If you don't have Sky HD or one of the other HD providers, then you will get motion drag no matter how much you spend. Yopu would then need a TV that has a 100hz refresh rate to help this issue

4-Jan-2008 mark: what LCD will minimise the most this Motion Lag on fast moving images like footy on SKY+? is there one better than the rest? im looking for a 40inch. Or will this only be sorted via HDMI sources like Sky HD?

buyitdirect: Sky HD would help eleviate the problem or a 100hz TV, but Sky HD is the best route. without this you will get motion drag with most LCDs unless they have a 100hz refresh rate

5-Jan-2008 Abdur: I'm thinking of buying this TV but have a couple of queries. Is there a cinema system that you can recommend under £250. I have a Sony DVD recorder but want to add a cinema system with this TV - is it possible to just buy the speaker systems and connect it to my Sony DVD recorder..

buyitdirect: which dvd recorder do you have

10-Jan-2008 djtwist2007: hello there i have this brilliant tv since it come out last year, i got also a jbl dsc1000 home cinema wich cost about £250 the sound is amaising, you wont belive it. i have used the tv on xbox 360 and ps3 and also on pc...my comment about this tv is one:it worths every penny .....one thing that it is noticeble(a bit slow on remote commands)

buyitdirect: 1

11-Feb-2008 Viviani: Hi, Can this TV handle 24fps as output by Bluray movies. Thanks

buyitdirect: it doesn't track at 24fps but it is a full 1080p panel being 1920x1080, so it does handle blu-ray, thats what is been designed for

28-Mar-2008 Didly: For a 40" TV between £500-£800, is this the best TV for gaming? If not, what would you recommend? As that is what i intend to use it for. Thank you.

buyitdirect: this has a gaming mode, Samsung develope their sets with gamers in mind. for the price best one to go for

Expand/CollapseBuying Advice

5-Nov-2007 keith: i understood that the le40m86bd was a full hd and not hd ready and assumed that the 87bd would be the same, is this a full hd tv or just hd ready

buyitdirect: Both models feature a maximum supported input of 1080p

5-Nov-2007 keith: sorry if im being a bit dumb here but i need to be sure before i buy, so if i connect say a sky hd box to this tv then will i get a hd picture

buyitdirect: This will given an HD picture if the broadcast is in HD, however you will need to connect the two using the HDMI ports.

20-Nov-2007 cuddy: i really want this tv with a universal lcd & plasma stand (zin421540/bki), but i have a 1 yr old baby, can i screw or fix the tv to the stand so he cant push it over??

buyitdirect: I cant see a way you can do this as the top is made of glass, the only way would be to mount the table to a wall.

1-Dec-2007 Tony: How important is a DVI connection on a LCD, are you missing out on something if the tv dosn't have one.

buyitdirect: Not having a DVI port just reduces the connectivity of the television, however most modern day televisions have a large number of different connections.

16-Dec-2007 ANDY: WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THIS MODEL AND THE LE40M86BD MODEL,

buyitdirect: the LE40M87BDX has a dynamic contrast ration of 8000:1 and the LE40M86BD has a dynamic contrast ratio of 15000:1

Expand/CollapseCompatibility queries

22-Oct-2007 colin: Can you connect this tv to a pc if so via which cable?

buyitdirect: Yes however this depends on the PC as the PC will need either an S-Video out port (which uses an S-Video cable) or an HDMI port (which uses an HD cable).
