Easycom: they are both HD ready. The differnce is the screen resolution. the "R" model is 1366x768 so will display a HD signal up to 1080i. The "M" model has aa resolution of 1920x1080, so will display a full HD signal of 1080p. Under normal viewing you can't tell any difference. The difference come in if you are playing cames via Xbox 360 or PS3. It comes down to the clarity of picture & speed of movement on the screen. In basic terms a 1080i image refreshes alternate lines on the screen & fills in the gaps via the engine, a 1080p panel refeshes every line, so will give a clearer image

Easycom: you need to have a HD signal, going into your TV to display a HD picture, no matter how good your TV is

Easycom: they're both only 1080i, so on a bigger screen you'll get a better image from a plasma. Just bare in mind that plasmas have a reflective glass surface, where as LCd has a matt surface. This will mean that in a brightly lit room you will get surface reflection with a plasma
