Easycom: yes this is the latest model

21-Jun-2007 Russ: I want to put the tv on a thermalite block wall which has been plasterboarded on dabs and skim coated, do you think this would be strong enough to hold the tv.

Easycom: We can't advise on whether you can mount this on dabbed plaster board as we are not builders. You have to make sure that you are mounting the bracket on to some form of solid base, eith brick or supporting joists. You would be best advised consulting a builder to ensure that you have a suitable wall capable of holding the Tvs weight

Easycom: it doesn't come with any HDMI leads. I would go for QED cables, award winners. You need to work out how long a cable you need & how many.

Easycom: the stand that comes with any tv is just a pedestal stand, allowing you to stand the tv on a piece of furniture.

16-Jan-2008 viks: What is the difference in quality and performance between the 42 and 50 inch models apart from size obviously. I know the 42inch model has been discontinued and I have just purchased one please tell me there isn't a problem with this set?

24-Jan-2008 Keithyboy: Hi there, This item looks like it has an optical out. If I attach a dvd with hdmi, will the TV output the 5.1 signal from the DVD thru the optical output to a surround system?

Easycom: yes it can

27-Feb-2008 Tom B: On the reviews for this TV I have seen "does not accept a 1080p signal"..... does this mean it will work in 720p, or that if you put a 1080p signal to it (e.g. PS3) it just won't work?

Easycom: you would need to set your ps3 to 1080i

Easycom: the Panasonic is streets ahead, better build quality, better speakers. Ignore any contrast ratio differences as this is only a potential number it can reach. Bare in mind that Samsung do not manufacture their own plasma panels, where as Panasonic are the market leader in that field
