Easycom: the Finlux is 1080p where as the Sony is only 1080i, lower resolution screen, so the Finlux offers grater value for money

4-Dec-2007 Dean Holmes: I'm thinking about buying this TV for Sky HD. Can you tell me what the quality of the SKY HD will be like on this TV as opposed to the finlux 1080p tv. I expect the picture would be the same quality as sky are only broadcasting up to 1080i in any event. Is there any point in getting a 1080p HD tv at the moment?

Easycom: Sky HD will be better on the Finlux as it is a full 1080p panel 1920x1080 pixels. The Sony is only a mid range sony panel with 1366x768 pixels, so is not full 1080p only 1080i. You will still get a better picture from the Finlux because you have more pixelas on the panel. As for getting a 1080p TV, if you are a gamer using xbox or PS3, then yes, but also from a general viewing point, a 1080p TV will be marginally better because of the increase in the number of pixels

Easycom: The finlux is a great TV and the screen looks brilliant for the price, but the Bravia-engined Sony looks better and has enhanced features. It's entirely up to your budget - Personally I would buy the Sony.
