13-Dec-2009 Ali: I have a Sony Handycam (DCR-HC22E) and would like to transfer the Mini DV cassettes onto DVD and would therefore like to buy a DVD recorder that will do this. I already have an IEEE cable. I would also like to record from the television and transfer some of our videos onto DVDs. Are all of these things possible using this product - Sony RDR-DC100. Thanks.

jeremy: This does have an i-link connection which you should be able to connect your camcorder by. This means that you will be able to do what you want to.

29-Dec-2009 Gary: Does this model do live pause?

jeremy: yes

16-Apr-2010 MarkH: I want to record from TV and then burn at the best bitrate possible. On my current deck (Toshiba RDXS32) I can record in best quality (9.2mbps) and then if the show is, say 1 hour 13 minutes, the machine either chooses "to fit" or allows me to set the bit rate to maximise disc use. Does the Sony do this and what is regular picture quality like when down scaled from say XP to SP?

jeremy: You can choose the quality that you want ot copy at. If you are just copying Tv programmes, then you won't see any difference from XP to SP. The only time you will get a lower grade image is by recording in long play. This, on LCd TVs, dos look poor

9-Jun-2010 sony rdr dc 100 dvd recorder: Can you record two channels at the same time ?

jeremy: No as it only has 1 digital tuner

21-Nov-2010 Victor: can this machine record subtitles to the disc or hard drive

jeremy: No it won't
