What is Freesat?

Freesat TV is a brand new free-to-air digital satellite TV service from the BBC and ITV. You can enjoy over 80 digital TV and radio channels including HD TV programmes.

Freesat believes that everyone should be able to experience amazing HD TV without having to be tied in to restrictive and costly contracts.

The launch of Freesat TV makes subscription-free HD TV available to almost every household in the UK. For a one off payment, people will be able to buy a freesat digital box or IDTV, satellite dish and installation.

Furthermore, Freesat TV provides super fast digital text and enhanced interactivity, with access to the latest local, national and world news, and even live sports results and the local weather!

What's on?

Freesat TV offers a great choice of channels from entertainment and children's programmes to movies and music. With over 80 digital TV and radio channels, including BBC Three, BBC Four, ITV2 and ITV3 and your favourite radio stations, with an estimated increase to around 200 channels by 2009! you�ll never be bored.

To help you make the most of what you want to watch, the new Freesat TVs have a built in TV programming guide, providing you with up to date listings of when your favourite shows are on. There are also digital subtitles and audio description available.

No Monthly charges!

Freesat TV is a Totally Free satellite service, no contract no subscription, just a one-off payment of between  £50 to £180 for the dish installation and digital box.�Panasonic's PZ81 range of freesat TVs have integrated freesat decoders which reduces the installation cost - see below for the details on these sets.
